Looking After your Hair Extensions

• Brush your extensions before shampooing to ensure that its tangle free
• Hold your hair with one hand whilst detangling to avoid any pressure or tension on the hair extensions and your scalp
• It is important that you use shampoo that has been advised by your stylist as it must be silicone & sulphate free
• When shampooing work in a circular motion on your scalp, creating less tangles. Don’t be afraid to wash your hair and shampoo your root. Do this in the shower allowing the bubbles to run down as you rinse, that’s enough to cleanse the ends of your hair. 2 small washes will allow the shampoo to laver more and ensure hair is clean (DO NOT WASH OVER BATH)
• Apply conditioner only to the mid length and ends of your hair avoiding contact with the root area (rings or tapes) You can apply conditioner generously throughout the ends. ALWAYS rinse products out thoroughly. Please do this from the day your extensions are applied to ensure a strong and healthy connection & to avoid product build up
• For best results leave conditioner in for 3-5 minutes, brush through your hair extensions before rinsing. Remove the heavy wet before applying conditioner
• We recommend you brush your hair at least twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening with a tangle teeter or soft bristle hairbrush. If you fail to use specific hair extensions products this will have an effect you if you have any issues
• Wash 2 times per week for and Weekly treatments are recommended
• When drying your hair always use heat protection and be careful not to over dry your hair. Avoid hot brushes!
• Avoid tight updo’s or ponytails for the first few days after application
• Swimming is not recommended so you should avoid going under the water in chlorine pools or sea water as chemicals can cause damage and cause your hair to discolour (pink/peach) Also be careful of sun creams and fake tan these will cause your hair to go brassy and orange.
• On holidays always tie your hair in a ponytail or braid and apply conditioner to the hair to act as a barrier against harmful chlorine/salt water etc. Always shampoo immediately after any contact with se or pool water and detangle as normal.
• Always cover your hair when in direct sunlight for long periods of time as sun can cause your hair to discolour
• Always dry off the roots and don’t go to bed with wet hair
• Your hair extensions are 100% human hair and reusable. Please follow these time frames for your maintenance/refit:
  Weave: 5-6 Weeks push up or 10-12 weeks take out & reapply.
  Tapes: 8-10 Weeks removal, retape and reapply.
  I-Tips individuals: 10-12 Weeks take out reapply row by row. 
  If you have one of our Tailor Made packages where you have a mix of methods we will book your appointments so that they tie in together
• Do Not attempt to maintain or adjust or remove your extensions yourself. Any issues leave it to the professionals.
• As a result of natural shedding (approx. 50-100 strands per day) it is not unusual to shed anywhere from 0-15 extension strands over the course of the term of wear. Your certified stylist normally allows for this during the application. The shedded strands can then be reapplied so make sure you keep them and bring to your maintenance.
• Do not colour your hair extensions and avoid using silver shampoo (especially on dark ash or low lighted mixed colours, as this will strip the colour and make them brassy. Please be aware that Ash Shades may need maintaining throughout their wear. We advise that you use colour retaining products to help prevent natural fading. High heat tools will also make your hair fade in colour.  Ash coloured hair extensions especially will need to have a professional toner applied as these colours are prone to fading. This is is same with your natural hair and the extensions. We recommend you having this done at your maintenance which will be charged depending on what needs doing.
